Pepecoin (PEP) — Live Network Data
This node is still syncing from genesis
Our Pepecoin node is in initial block download — verifying the chain block-by-block over the coin’s P2P network, the only way we ingest data. Until verification completes, this page shows sync progress and nothing else: no borrowed explorer numbers, no third-party hashrate, nothing pretending to be our measurement.
Live metrics appear here automatically the moment the node leaves IBD.

What Pepecoin is
Pepecoin launched in early 2024 as a Dogecoin Core 1.14 fork carrying community backports vanilla Dogecoin lacks (getblockstats, getblock verbosity), and its codebase became the template for Shibacoin and TrumPOW. Blocks target 60 seconds with 100,000-block halvings. It is a meme coin; the numbers on this page are what we can measure about it.
PEP is merge-mined under Litecoin parent pools (AuxPoW chain ID 63). ViaBTC (since 2024-12-10), F2Pool, Binance Pool, EMCD, Kryptex and Mining-Dutch all carry it — in practice the default second kicker after BELLS in most LTC merge rosters.
The public explorer (pepeblocks.com) offers basic chain browsing only. No one publishes per-block fee series, mempool telemetry or parent-pool attribution for this chain — BasinTwo’s own node archives them forward from 2026-10-02.
FAQ
- What is Pepecoin (PEP)?
- Pepecoin (PEP) is a scrypt proof-of-work meme coin launched in early 2024 on a Dogecoin Core 1.14 fork with community backports, running 60-second blocks with 100,000-block halvings. It is merge-mined (AuxPoW) under Litecoin parent pools.
- Can you mine Pepecoin directly?
- Not on its own, and you don’t need to: Pepecoin is merge-mined (AuxPoW) under Litecoin parent pools. Point your scrypt machine at a pool that carries PEP — ViaBTC, F2Pool, Binance Pool, EMCD, Kryptex or Mining-Dutch — and it arrives as a kicker on your LTC payouts, for the same hashes you were already doing. Solo AuxPoW setups exist, but pool merged mining is how virtually all PEP blocks are found. In most LTC merge rosters PEP is the default second kicker after BELLS.
- Where does this data come from?
- From BasinTwo’s own Pepecoin full node, synced block-by-block from genesis over the coin’s P2P network — no snapshots, no third-party APIs. The page reads the same public JSON feeds anyone can: basintwo.com/api/chain/pep and basintwo.com/api/nodes/pep. Our forward archive for this chain began 2026-10-02; indicators that need deeper history say so instead of faking it.
