Junkcoin (JKC) — Live Network Data
This node is still syncing from genesis
Our Junkcoin node is in initial block download — verifying the chain block-by-block over the coin’s P2P network, the only way we ingest data. Until verification completes, this page shows sync progress and nothing else: no borrowed explorer numbers, no third-party hashrate, nothing pretending to be our measurement.
Live metrics appear here automatically the moment the node leaves IBD.

What Junkcoin is
Junkcoin launched 2013-05-03 and was revived in November 2024 on a Litecoin Core 0.21 base — making it the only coin in this family with MWEB — with AuxPoW accepted from height 173,000. The Junkcoin Foundation ships the most active code in the family (v4.0.3.1 released 2026-09-29, plus wallet and sibling repos). Rewards follow a day-based early schedule with random bonus blocks, so subsidy is non-deterministic.
JKC runs 60-second blocks and is merge-mined under Litecoin parent pools: ViaBTC, F2Pool, Binance Pool, EMCD and Mining-Dutch carry it, and the project publishes its own merge-mining tutorials aimed at home miners.
As the only MWEB side coin, its fee and MWEB-usage series would be literally unique — and nobody records them. BasinTwo’s own node archives the chain forward from 2026-10-02.
FAQ
- What is Junkcoin (JKC)?
- Junkcoin (JKC) is a scrypt proof-of-work chain from May 2013, revived in November 2024 on a Litecoin Core 0.21 base with MWEB support. It runs 60-second blocks with a day-based early reward schedule plus random bonus blocks, and is merge-mined (AuxPoW from height 173,000) under Litecoin parent pools.
- Can you mine Junkcoin directly?
- Not on its own, and you don’t need to: Junkcoin is merge-mined (AuxPoW) under Litecoin parent pools. Point your scrypt machine at a pool that carries JKC — ViaBTC, F2Pool, Binance Pool, EMCD or Mining-Dutch — and it arrives as a kicker on your LTC payouts, for the same hashes you were already doing. Solo AuxPoW setups exist, but pool merged mining is how virtually all JKC blocks are found. The Junkcoin Foundation publishes its own merge-mining tutorials aimed at home miners.
- Where does this data come from?
- From BasinTwo’s own Junkcoin full node, synced block-by-block from genesis over the coin’s P2P network — no snapshots, no third-party APIs. The page reads the same public JSON feeds anyone can: basintwo.com/api/chain/jkc and basintwo.com/api/nodes/jkc. Our forward archive for this chain began 2026-10-02; indicators that need deeper history say so instead of faking it.
