How Long Does It Take to Mine 1 Litecoin?

The live-computed answer for real machines — pool accrual, solo odds, and the Dogecoin you earn while you wait.
loading live data…
On a mining pool, an Antminer L9 (16 GH/s) accumulates 1 LTC in about 45 days at the ~2.6 PH/s network our node measured in late September 2026. The formula for any machine: days = network GH/s ÷ (your GH/s × 3,600) — because the network mints 3,600 LTC a day and your slice is your share of its hashrate. The table below recomputes live.

Your machine

Enter MH-class machines as fractions: 700 MH/s = 0.7. “In practice” applies the standard 2% pool fee and 97% uptime haircut — the same defaults as our rig pages. (1 LTC = 100,000,000 litoshi, the coin's smallest unit.)

This is really two questions

Pooled, you accrue a steady trickle: your share of every block the pool finds, paid on schedule. Solo, you don't accrue at all — you either win a whole block (6.25 LTC plus fees, in one payment) or get nothing. A pool — a search party splitting finds — doesn't mine your coin faster; it sells you certainty for a 1–3% fee. Same expected coins, opposite variance:

LTC 0 1 year 1 LTC pool day ~45 solo one whole block
An Antminer L9 (the table's 16 GH/s row) over one year at the ~2.6 PH/s network of 2026-09-25: pooled, it accrues a steady ramp — about 8 LTC, crossing 1 LTC around day 45. Solo, it sits at zero until a whole 6.25 LTC block lands at a random moment — some years two land, and roughly 28% contain none at all. The average is identical; only the shape differs. The pool's 1–3% fee is the price of the ramp.

Median sits below the mean because block-finding is a lottery with a long tail: half of solo runs find a block before the median date, while the unlucky tail waits long enough to drag the average far past it. Note the L9's odds of a solo block inside the same 45 days a pool needs to pay it 1 LTC: about 15% — yet the expected haul is the same one coin (≈0.16 expected blocks × 6.25 LTC). The pool changes the payout's shape, never its average — that trade is the whole pool business model, and the full luck-and-variance math gets its own lesson in the school map.

Where the 3,600 comes from

The network targets one block per 2.5 minutes — 576 blocks a day — at 6.25 LTC subsidy each: 3,600 LTC minted daily, full stop. Your expected share is exactly your share of network hashrate — your drawers pulled per second against the world's. Three honest footnotes: it's subsidy-only (LTC fees typically add under 1%); actual cadence wobbles a few percent inside difficulty epochs (~549 blocks/day at the last fetch — why); and the pool haircut is real — at 2% fee and 97% uptime the L9's 45.4 days becomes ≈48 in practice.

The Dogecoin you earn while you wait

Here is the part most answers miss. On a pool that merge-mines and credits DOGE, the same watts collect Dogecoin the whole time — and the two networks mint 4,000 DOGE per 1 LTC (14.4M vs 3,600 daily). Because both your LTC wait and your DOGE rate scale with the same hashrate, the rig cancels out: any machine on a merged pool accumulates ~4,140 DOGE by the time it pools its first full LTC (at today's 1.04 LTC:DOGE hashrate ratio — live).

Two assumptions, stated: your pool merge-mines and credits DOGE (a few account the chains separately — check its payout page), and the hashrate ratio stays near 1:1. The mechanics live in the merged mining lesson; the revenue split in the calculator.

What moves the answer

Network hashrate is the denominator — more iron, longer waits (7-day drift: −1.1% · live chart). The halving is the scheduled shock: at block 3,360,000 — 176,027 blocks (~306 days) from the last fetch — the subsidy drops to 3.125 LTC, daily issuance falls to 1,800 LTC, and at unchanged hashrate every wait on this page doubles (the L9's ~45 → ~91 days). The DOGE side never halves — fixed 10,000 per block — which is why merged rigs cross August 2027 differently than LTC-only math suggests. And your own uptime and pool fee — the one lever you control.

Which machine, in one line each

L9: the current mid path — 45-day class today, halving survivor. L7: 77-day class, the machine the 2027 halving squeezes first. DG Home 1: ~11 months per LTC — a home machine, judged on power cost, not stacking speed. Mini-DOGE III: ~2.8 years per LTC — nobody buys it to stack LTC; its case is the DOGE trickle at desk scale. Power cost, payback and the dollar verdicts live on each rig's page — deliberately not here.

Can I mine Litecoin on a PC or GPU?

Arithmetically yes, practically no: scrypt has been ASIC territory for a decade, and at GPU-class hashrate the wait for 1 LTC is measured in thousands of years. A used entry-level scrypt ASIC beats any computer you own by orders of magnitude.

FAQ

How long does it take to mine 1 Litecoin?
Days = network GH/s ÷ (your GH/s × 3,600). At the ~2.6 PH/s network of late September 2026: L9 about 45 days, L7 about 77, DG Home 1 about 11 months, Mini-DOGE III about 2.8 years — before pool fee and downtime. The live table above is the current answer.
Can you mine 1 Litecoin solo?
Solo doesn't accrue — whole block or nothing. At the September-2026 network an L9 expects ~280 days per block, with ~72% odds of at least one inside a year and ~15% inside the 45 days a pool needs to pay it 1 LTC.
Do I earn Dogecoin while mining Litecoin?
On a pool that merge-mines and credits DOGE, yes — roughly 4,000 DOGE by your first full LTC at today's near-equal hashrates. A few pools account the chains separately; check yours.
What happens after the 2027 halving?
Subsidy 6.25 → 3.125 at block 3,360,000 (~Aug 2027): every wait doubles at unchanged hashrate — the L9's ~45 days (September 2026) becomes ~91. The DOGE side never halves.
