Dingocoin Mining Difficulty

How hard a DINGO block is to find right now — DigiShield has recalculated it at every one of the chain's 2.77 million blocks to hold the 60-second target.

Difficulty History
No public Dingocoin difficulty history series exists anywhere — and we don't draw charts from data we don't have. BasinTwo's own node has archived every DINGO block forward since 2026-10-02 (1 day banked as of 2026-10-03); this chart draws itself the day our archive serves the series.

What is difficulty?

Difficulty is a single network-wide number that sets how much computational work it takes to find a valid Dingocoin block. The higher it is, the more scrypt hashes — on average — must be tried before a block lands. It exists so that no matter how much work the parent-pool basket points at this chain, blocks keep arriving roughly every 60 seconds.

The headline reading (18.60 M as of 2026-10-03) is the raw difficulty scaled for display — M = million (×10⁶). It is a ratio against the minimum difficulty of the chain's earliest blocks: that many times harder to mine than when block 1 landed on 2021-04-02.

How DigiShield recalculates it — every block

new_difficulty = old_difficulty × (target_timespan ÷ damped_actual_timespan)
· recomputed at EVERY block — a ~1-minute cadence on this chain (DigiShield)
· damping tempers each step, so one fast or slow block only nudges the value

Bitcoin and Litecoin adjust in 2,016-block epochs, so their miners face a scheduled adjustment cliff every ~2 weeks (BTC) or ~3.5 days (LTC). Dingocoin retargets every block (DigiShield, Dogecoin-1.14 class): at every new block, nodes compare recent arrival pace against the 60-second target and nudge difficulty, damping each step. This chain has now done that roughly 2.77 million times — once a minute since April 2021 — which is why there is no epoch progress bar and no next-adjustment date on this page: the next adjustment is always about a minute away.

DigiShield exists to resist hashrate whiplash, and that matters double on a merge-mined chain: whole parent-pool baskets arrive or leave at once — this chain took on ViaBTC's and f2pool's baskets in a single week of March 2025. Per-block retargeting closes within minutes the window an epoch chain would leave open.

The pressure gauge: e_hafeer, recipe included

The "Difficulty pressure" tile is e_hafeer, a signed [−1, +1] reading of recent block pace. +1 means blocks are running far slower than target, so difficulty pressure is easing — a tailwind for the machines already here; −1 means far faster, pressure building — the same machines are about to earn proportionally less. As of 2026-10-03 it read +0.018, agreeing with the 63.6 s average interval measured the same day. The receipt is the recipe itself, served inside every API response and quoted here verbatim:

last 2016 block timestamps: g = sqrt(2 x elapsed/target), clamped to [0.542826416334146, 3.684419069923939] (the positive root of x^2+pi*x-2=0 and its Vieta partner 2/root); E=(g^2-2)/(pi*g). +1 = blocks far slower than target (difficulty pressure down), -1 = far faster (pressure up)

One display convention is ours, not the recipe's, so we state it: the tile colors the reading only beyond ±0.005 — green when E is above +0.005 (pressure easing), amber below −0.005 (pressure building), neutral in the band between. With the formula above and the raw feed, every pixel of that coloring is checkable.

Merged mining and difficulty

Each chain computes its own difficulty — Litecoin in 2,016-block epochs, Dingocoin every block. The hashrate feeding both, though, is largely the same scrypt work, routed by parent-pool merge rosters. When a basket adds DINGO, this page shows it within minutes: blocks run fast, e_hafeer swings negative, difficulty climbs to meet the new work.

One claim we deliberately do not make: a fixed difficulty ratio between DINGO and LTC. We have not verified that the full Litecoin basket mines DINGO — and on this chain even pool-side bookkeeping is shaky, because attribution cannot key on its two AuxPoW chain IDs (0x62 and 0x32). We say so rather than guess.

Why it matters for miners

Your revenue is your share of the network, so a sustained +3% rise in difficulty cuts revenue per MH/s by about 2.9% (1 − 1/1.03). On DINGO that arrives as a drift, not a cliff — per-MH/s earnings erode or recover block by block instead of stepping every epoch. And because DINGO reaches scrypt miners as a kicker on LTC payouts (ViaBTC, F2Pool, EMCD or Mining-Dutch), this chain's difficulty moves the bonus layer of a rig's income, stacked on top of the LTC side rather than replacing it. Both majors folded DINGO into their LTC baskets in the same week of March 2025, and our own first day of attribution capture (1,169 blocks, 2026-10-02 to 2026-10-03) was dominated by F2Pool, ViaBTC and AntPool tags.

FAQ

Why does Dingocoin difficulty change every block?
Dingocoin retargets every block (DigiShield, Dogecoin-1.14 class) — the rule its Dogecoin lineage carries. Instead of waiting out a 2,016-block epoch like Bitcoin or Litecoin, every new block triggers a recalculation against the 60-second target, damped so one lucky or unlucky block only nudges the value. The chain has done this at every one of its 2.77 million blocks; the next adjustment is always about a minute away.
Does Dingocoin have halvings?
It did — and they are finished. Measured from our own node: the first 5,000 blocks paid random amounts (the largest we measured was 995,829 DINGO), blocks 5,000–99,999 paid a fixed 500,000, and five halvings followed at 100,000-block steps. Since block 600,000 — crossed in mid-2022 — every block has paid a flat 10,000 DINGO, which we verified from a live coinbase at height 2,777,840 on 2026-10-03. There are no future halvings on this chain; its emission era is over, and only the tail remains.
Is DINGO harder to mine than LTC or DOGE?
The difficulty numbers cannot be compared — each chain's difficulty is a ratio against its own genesis minimum, and the chains run different block targets. In practice the question dissolves: through AuxPoW the same scrypt machines mine LTC, DOGE and DINGO at once, so nobody chooses between them — a pool roster chooses which kickers ride along. On DINGO what rides along has been a flat, known 10,000 per block since mid-2022 — the easiest kicker in the family to reason about.
What is e_hafeer?
A pressure gauge computed from recent block pace: g is derived from elapsed time versus target and E = (g² − 2) / (πg), clamped to [−1, +1] — positive means blocks are running slower than target (difficulty pressure easing), negative means faster (pressure building). The full recipe, constants included, is published in the API response at basintwo.com/api/chain/dingo.
