Hashrate History
No chain-measured Shibacoin hashrate history exists anywhere — the lone third-party series is pool-reported aggregation, and we don't draw charts from data we don't have, ours or anyone's. BasinTwo's own node has archived every SHIC block forward since 2026-10-02 (1 day banked as of 2026-10-03); this chart draws itself the day our archive serves the series.

What is Shibacoin's hashrate?

Hashrate is the total number of scrypt hash attempts pointed at Shibacoin each second, shown here in TH/s (terahashes per second, 10¹² hashes/s). SHIC targets one block every 60 seconds, so hashrate decides how the chain's per-block reward stream is divided among the machines doing the work. At 763 TH/s as of 2026-10-03, this is one of the thinner slices in the Litecoin merge family — a fact, not a flaw, and the pages here treat it as a number to measure rather than a number to sell. Shibacoin is a meme coin; what you see is what our node measured.

Whose hashrate is this, really?

Almost none of it is Shibacoin-only hardware. SHIC is merge-mined under Litecoin parent pools (AuxPoW chain ID 74, accepted since block 24,000 — 2025-01-08 by our node's clock): the scrypt work you see was done for Litecoin, and Shibacoin accepts it as proof-of-work through AuxPoW. On this chain we can go one step further than saying so: our archive attributes every SHIC block to its parent coinbase, and the first measured window (1,191 blocks, 2026-10-02 to 2026-10-03) read F2Pool-tagged parents 85.8%, litecoinpool.org 9.3%, Mining-Dutch 2.0%, Binance Pool 1.7%. The consequence is worth saying plainly: basket add/drop decisions, not SHIC-side miner economics, move this number — and with one roster carrying most of the work, a single pool's routing decision is most of this chart's future. Compare against LTC's own hashrate to see how thin the slice is.

How we measure it — and why we don't borrow numbers

implied_hashrate = difficulty × 2³² ÷ 60 s   (hashes per second, from the live difficulty)
headline estimate = total work over the last day ÷ elapsed seconds   (the API recipe, from our own headers)

Nobody publishes a chain-measured Shibacoin hashrate series — the project's eIquidus explorer has no history charts, and the one aggregator trace is pool-reported, which we would not quote anyway. Our SHIC node is synced block-by-block from genesis over the coin's P2P network, no snapshots, no third-party feeds, and integrity seals ride every API response. The "Implied hashrate" tile applies the first formula to the live difficulty as a cross-check on the day average; on a chain that retargets every block (DigiShield, Dogecoin-1.14 class), the two legitimately diverge for a while whenever difficulty has just moved.

Why it matters for miners

Your expected share of this chain's reward stream equals your hashrate divided by network hashrate. But on a merge-mined chain you don't point a rig at SHIC directly — you point a scrypt machine at a pool that carries it, and on SHIC that list is short: ViaBTC or F2Pool are the payers we verified. The kicker arrives on your LTC payouts for hashes you were already doing. Carriage is thinner than the big crosses, so pool choice is close to made for you — every block in our first attribution window (1,191 blocks, 2026-10-02 to 2026-10-03) carried a parent-pool coinbase.

Evaluate scrypt hardware on combined parent-plus-kickers revenue, never on one side coin alone. And solo-mining SHIC with dedicated hardware rarely makes sense: you would be competing against parent-pool fleets that earn their SHIC for free on work they were doing anyway.

FAQ

Why does Shibacoin's hashrate move with Litecoin pools?
Because the work is not SHIC-side work. Shibacoin is merge-mined (AuxPoW, chain ID 74) under Litecoin parent pools, so the hashrate pointed at this chain is whatever slice of the Litecoin fleet pool rosters aim at it. The roster events are datable: F2Pool added SHIC on 2025-04-05, Antpool announced it from 2025-04-09, ViaBTC opened its SHIC pool on 2025-07-03. When a parent pool adds or drops SHIC, this number steps — no SHIC-side miner decided anything.
What is merged mining (AuxPoW)?
One round of hashing, two chains. A Litecoin miner embeds a commitment to a Shibacoin block in its LTC work; a solution good enough for Shibacoin's difficulty counts on the SHIC chain via AuxPoW, at zero extra electricity. Shibacoin accepts AuxPoW from block 24,000 — moved up from a planned 42,000 by community vote — under chain ID 74. That parent-pool carriage, not standalone SHIC rigs, is where virtually all SHIC blocks come from: every block in our first attribution window carried a parent-pool coinbase.
Can SHIC's hashrate change when no miner touched SHIC?
Yes — and on this chain more sharply than most. Carriage is thin: our first measured window (1,191 blocks, 2026-10-02 to 2026-10-03) attributed 85.8% of parent blocks to F2Pool tags, so a single roster decision can move most of this number overnight while every machine keeps doing exactly what it did yesterday. Basket add/drop decisions are precisely what the ribbon indicators on the SHIC dashboard are reading.
Where is the historical chart?
No chain-measured Shibacoin hashrate history exists; the only third-party series is pool-reported aggregation, and we neither quote other people's numbers nor draw charts from data we do not have. BasinTwo's own node has archived every SHIC block forward since 2026-10-02; the chart ships the day our archive serves the series.
